THE CURRICULUM STRUCTURE

The school has 3 Levels, namely the Kindergarten, the Primary and the Secondary.

(a) Kindergarten

The Kindergarten has a three-year child development programme, catering for children from ages three to five.

English is the medium of instruction with Mandarin as an optional subject. Bahasa Malaysia is taught as a subject to the 5-year-olds.

The 3-year-old children learn primarily through play and acquire many skills that will be the foundation of their future education. In the second year, a more structured pre-academic programme is introduced. In the third year, the 5-year-old children undertake more formal tasks of reading, writing and arithmetic.

The main emphasis of the 3-year programme is to provide solid and sound foundation in English comprehension and expression. Children are allowed to progress at their own pace.

(b) Primary Section

The Primary Section consists of a Bahasa Malaysia medium stream and an English medium stream. The Bahasa Malaysia stream follows the Malaysian National Primary School Curriculum (Kurikulum bersepadu Sekolah Rendah-KBSR) whereas the English Stream follows the English Primary School Programme which is UK based and caters for non-Malaysians.

(c) Secondary Section

The Secondary Section of the Bahasa Malaysia medium stream follows the Malaysia National Secondary Schools Curriculum (KBSM). The English medium Secondary stream follows the secondary school English Programme which is UK based and caters for non-Malaysians. Materials from Singapore and Australia are also being used.
